SYNOPSIS
Much-revived classic concerns fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, who prepares a séance as a joke in order to gain information for his new novel. Vibrantly unconventional medium, Madame Arcati, summons the ghost of his late first wife, Elvira. Personalities clash in this accidental love triangle as Elvira makes increasingly desperate attempts to be seen, including tossing furniture and creating chaos. Intensely funny and character-driven, "Blithe Spirit" combines farce, emotion, and wit to great effect.
