Shawn Essler is directing this comedic love letter to regional theater.

A travelling repertory theatre company are on tour and dealing with dwindling audiences due to the rise of televisions in the home in 1953. But famous movie director Frank Capra is in town to see the show and could be the answer to their prayers for Hollywood stardom. Affairs, lawyers, mistaken identities, poor communication, and a healthy dose of day-drinking threaten to derail the entire thing!

All this and more in beautiful downtown Buffalo!!!

Crusaders Amok
open Auditions Jan. 24th and 27th!

The Penfield Players are thrilled to announce auditions for their Winter Readers' Theater, "Crusaders Amok".

A Readers Theater is just that, script in hand reading; only two or three rehearsals, and two performances.

If you liked what the British did for the Spanish Inquisition, you’ll love what our own local playwright Tristan Berlet has done for the Crusades.

If you're afraid of death, then you're a lot smarter than any of the characters in this new crusading comedy. But if you aren't, then join this crew of noble madmen as they set out to destroy anything and everything in the name of Innocent; Pope Innocent to be exact, and his Crusade!

Auditions for 25 characters will happen on Wednesday, January 24th 8:00 - 10:00 PM and Saturday, January the 27th from Noon - 3:00 PM at the Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Rd, Penfield.

Bring a resume and headshot if available, sides will be provided.
