DESCRIPTION

Written by Horton Foote and directed by Tim Stuff, The Trip to Bountiful is a classic American play about family, identity, and hope.

 

Although she lives with her son and daughter-in-law, Carrie Watts suffers from loneliness and isolation in the big city and longs to return to the idyllic town of Bountiful where she grew up. When her request is rebuffed, she embarks on a risky trip home with her family in hot pursuit, and in doing so encounters several strangers along the way who are on inner journeys of their own.
