directed by S. Michael Smith
A popular comedy hit on Broadway,
re-played in honor of our 40th season. Don't Drink the Water was
first performed by the Penfield Players in 1987.
Inside an American embassy behind the
Iron Curtain, an American tourist, his wife and daughter are two steps ahead of
the police who suspect them of spying. The ambassador is absent and his
son, now in charge, has been expelled from a dozen countries and the continent
of Africa. Nevertheless, they frantically plot
their escape, and the ambassador's son and the tourist’s daughter even have
time to fall in love.
